Resounding success on the second night of the XLIII Folklore Festival in Patagonia 2024



The second night of the XLIII Folkloric Festival in La Patagonia 2024 was a true spectacle of talent and emotion, with a lineup of artists that left the audience enchanted.


The stellar day began with a vibrant presentation by the Municipal Folkloric Ballet . Next, the consecrated Grupo Taller Alturas took the Alfonso Cocho Cárcamo stage, delighting attendees with their greatest hits. Among them, the emotional song “Prayer for Magallanes”, considered an anthem for the region, which made the entire audience sing. The group's performance was so impressive that they took home two awards from the audience.


The closing of the night was performed by the iconic Daniela Mercury , who made the new generations vibrate with her greatest hits. Sharing the stage with local artists, Mercury won the affection of the public and won the coveted “El Ovejero” and “El Ñandú” awards. In addition, he left a powerful message about the importance of caring for nature and respecting indigenous peoples.


The regional folk competition was also a highlight of the night, with great artists from various parts presenting their songs. The six songs qualified for the grand final are:

  • It's still here - Ceibo

  • Absurd - Silvina Recabarren

  • I am Patagón - Mauricio Enrique

  • Naming you - Aruma

  • A Patagonian Rhythm - Alexéy Ortiz and Los Navegantes

  • Blue and Gray - Martín Bravo and Lucas Ibáñez


This Saturday, August 3, from 8:00 p.m., the third night of the festival awaits us with the participation of great artists such as Grupo Tupá from Argentina, Karina Contreras from Punta Arenas and the Argentine Chaqueño Palavecino . In addition, the winner of the Folk Festival will be chosen in the competition area.
